3 Up, 3 Down: FSU splits the doubleheader with Jacksonville

The Florida State Seminoles (31-17, 14-11) split Tuesday’s doubleheader with Jacksonville (26-23). In the first game the ’Noles won, 3-0, but ultimately fell to the Dolphins in game two losing, 3-2.

Pitchers: In game one the Seminoles’ southpaw starter Antonio Velez (3-2) had his best game of the season throwing a career high six shutout innings allowing four hits, walking zero, and striking out two in Florida State’s victory. Relief pitcher J.C. Flowers picked up his eleventh save of the season after coming in during the final seventh inning. He now leads the ACC in saves.
