Florida State's 3 Most Likely Playoff Scenarios

The Florida State Seminoles seem set to make the College Football Playoff with a victory over Georgia Tech in the ACC Championship Game, but it's still not set where they'll end up this bowl season. Where will FSU be playing?

Sugar Bowl

If the Seminoles stay No. 4 in the selection committee's rankings, they will face Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. This is a much better option for FSU fans than a trip to California and the Rose Bowl. They could also end up here if any of the teams ahead of them lose, as a win over the Yellow Jackets (along with the losses) would likely catapult them to a top two seed.

Rose Bowl

Florida State may very well jump TCU in the rankings even if the Horned Frogs don't lose, and if that's the case, they'll be playing in Pasadena again to face Oregon. Traveling across the country is not something fans want to do deal with, the Seminoles would still be playing in the College Football Playoff. Not a bad tradeoff.

Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl

Should Georgia Tech pull the upset over Florida State, this would be the Seminoles' consolation prize. It's still one of the big "New Year's Six" bowls and would put FSU against one of the best teams from the SEC, but it's not in the playoff.
