Florida State will make the College Football Playoff with a victory over Georgia Tech in the ACC Championship Game, giving them a chance to play for their second straight national title. We know the teams that might stand in their way, but who are they most likely to face?
Oregon![](http://dailyemerald.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/131129.RJK_.OEM_.FBC_.OregonState.1492.jpg)
FSU currently sits No. 4 in the playoff committee's rankings, which would pit them against No.1 Alabama in the first round. However, a win over Georgia Tech will likely catapult the Seminoles over No. 3 TCU, paving the way for them to face No. 2 Oregon. If that happens, FSU will travel to the Rose Bowl and Jameis Winston would have his first showdown with Marcus Mariota.
Alabama![](http://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/229/files/2014/01/tide.jpg)
The committee could also decide to keep Florida State fourth, meaning they'd face Alabama in their first bowl game. This is the showdown a lot of fans want to see - No. 1 vs. defending national champs - and would get HUGE television ratings.
Mississippi State![](http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/92b80ccc1fec131c7b6244df9c2d300534a5ea0f/c=0-63-680-447&r=x1803&c=3200x1800/local/-/media/JacksonMS/None/2014/10/15/635489916734963766-Dak-after-USM-KW.jpg)
But what happens if Georgia Tech upsets Florida State? Though I don't think that will happen, it would drop Florida State out of the playoff and into the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. The Seminoles would face one of the best teams from the SEC - probably Mississippi State, who many view as the best team in the conference that's not Alabama. It's certainly not ideal for FSU, but this would still be a good game to be in.
