The Florida State Seminoles are 7-2, but fresh off a loss to Clemson. The Wolfpack are 6-3, but haven't beaten any notable teams this season. FSU is favored by more than a touchdown, but that's too low of a spread. Here are three reasons why Florida State will CRUSH N.C. State.
3. Injuries to N.C. State Ground Game
Matthews Dayes was having a great year, but he's done for the season after hurting his foot against Clemson. That leaves a committee approach for the Wolfpack. No committee is going to be able to effectively replace Dayes. The loss of Dayes is a huge one for N.C. State. Without Dayes, the Wolfpack won't be able to pull the upset against Florida State.
2. Depth
Florida State is simply a deeper team than N.C. State. That's not to say the Wolfpack don't have talent, but they just aren't as good as Florida State top-to-bottom. That depth will show itself during the game. FSU will be able to stay fresh throughout the game, something the Wolfpack won't be able to do.
1. Dalvin Cook
Cook has battled injuries at times this season, but he's been a monster when healthy. The underrated Heisman Trophy candidate is averaging an absurd 8.3 yards per carry and has already set career-highs in rushing yards and TDs. He's racked up 1,231 yards and 12 TDs on just 148 attempts. N.C. State has a solid run defense, but they haven't played a player of Cook's caliber. Cook will get his yards and he'll carry FSU to win.
