Alex Petrovic scored with 7:58 left in the third period to give the Florida Panthers a much-needed 3-2 win over the visiting Carolina Hurricanes.
The Hurricanes opened the scoring just 3:44 into the first period when Trevor van Riemsdyk snuck down from the point to bang home a rebound after Roberto Luongo denied Brock McGinn on the doorstep. The second assist on the goal went to veteran Justin Williams.
