Stanley Cup playoffs tentatively set to begin on August 1

The NHL and the NHLPA have reached a tentative agreement on a return-to-play plan to restart the 2019-20 season in the Canadian cities of Toronto, Ontario and Edmonton, Alberta and also on a memorandum of understanding that extends the current collective bargaining agreement by four years to the fall of 2026.

The 12 Eastern Conference teams, including the Florida Panthers, will travel to Toronto, while the 12 Western Conference teams will be based in Edmonton.

Formal training camps will begin on July 13. The 24 teams will travel to the two hub cities on July 26, and finally, postseason games will begin on August 1.
