Recap: Panthers roll to easy 5-1 victory over Senators

The Florida Panthers scored five times in a dominant second period to close out a perfect three-game homestand with a 5-1 win over the Ottawa Senators on Sunday evening at the BB&T Center.

First Period

As they did against both Edmonton and New York, the Panthers got off to a another slow start, only firing seven shots at former farmhand Mike McKenna, who was making his first start of the season in place of Craig Anderson. Frank Vatrano got called for cross-checking late in the frame, and Ottawa took advantage to take the lead.
