Recap: Hoffman goal give Panthers 4-3 overtime win over Devils

After tying the game with 1:29 left in regulation, Jonathan Huberdeau set up Mike Hoffman 1:28 into overtime to give the Florida Panthers a much-needed 4-3 comeback win over the New Jersey Devils.

After a scoreless first period that saw Evgenii Dadonov’s redirection catch the post and Aaron Ekblad’s shorthanded bid for glory go high after a sweet set-up from Aleksander Barkov, Florida spotted visiting New Jersey a 2-0 lead early in the second.

Miles Wood deflected Sami Vatanen’s shot from the point off the ice and up and over James Reimer at the 1:23 mark and Blake Coleman easily beat Reimer’s wanting glove at 6:01 for a shorthanded goal after a ghastly turnover by Barkov at center ice.
