Mark your calendars, folks. The Florida Panthers will begin the home portion of its 2016-17 schedule on Thursday, October 13, against the New Jersey Devils. The Devils will be Florida's final preseason opponent when the two teams tussle on the 8th at West Point.

With the release of the full '16-17 schedule still to come, it's unclear whether the first home game against New Jersey will also serve as the season-opener. This season is slated to begin on October 12, so there is a slight possibility the Cats could have a road game before they face the Devils at the BB&T Center.
