Tuesday night had all the earmarks the Panthers were looking for in their first road game in nearly three weeks.
The Panthers were getting solid goaltending from Roberto Luongo, they were defensively sound against the struggling St. Louis Blues, the penalty kill was on the money again for a fourth straight game, and then in the third period, the script was flipped upside down for the Panthers in a 4-3 loss to the Blues at Enterprise Center.
The Blues scored four times, including the game-winner from Brayden Schenn with 3:55 remaining in regulation on a goal that had Panther players and coach Bob Boughner wondering why a penalty wasn’t called on Schenn for an apparent cross-check on defenseman Mike Matheson right before Schenn put a backhand rebound past Luongo.
