The Colorado Avalanche joined the Columbus Blue Jackets as the second WC2 to advance to the second round of the 2019 NHL playoffs with a 5-1 over the host Calgary Flames. Colorado reeled off four straight wins after getting shut out in Game 1. Mikko Rantanen scored two goals and added an assist and Nathan MacKinnon set up three goals. Colin Wilson also scored twice for the Avs and Gabriel Landeskog opened the scoring 9:40 into the first period. T.J. Brodie notched the only goal for the Flames.
