Erik Gudbranson was the type of player Florida Panthers fans expected to be one day wearing the captain’s crest. At six feet, five inches, he was a force to be reckoned with and someone the Florida Panthers relied heavily on for physicality to add to an already offensively talented roster. Gudbranson being the third overall pick in the 2010 draft showed just how much faith the Panthers had in the now 24-year-old defenseman.
Then on May 25th, during game 6 between the San Jose Sharks and St Louis Blues news broke of a trade between the Florida Panthers and Vancouver Canucks, and left fans of both clubs wondering just exactly what had just happened.
