With the grunt of the big name free agents signed to their new teams, and the dust of the frenzy that is July 1 good and settled, The Rat Trick takes a look back at the moves the Florida Panthers have made thus far.
One of the goals for the Panthers heading into the offseason was to add some scoring depth for the team’s third and fourth lines. Seeing the Pittsburgh Penguins storm back and win the Stanley Cup Final featuring four lines with the threat of registering points, it appears that the best way to counteract the decrease in scoring around the league was to put as many people with the ability to put the puck in the net as opposed to placing your traditional ‘pluggers’.
