The Florida Panthers announced today that Florida Panthers Alumni Association has awarded new youth hockey scholarships for the Fall youth hockey travel season, supporting four local travel hockey players. The Panthers Alumni Association has donated over $300,000 to youth hockey players and programs who could not afford the ice time and equipment required to otherwise play the game.
The awardees come from travel programs around the South Florida area and were granted based on academic merit, financial need and community involvement rather than their skills or talent on the ice.
“The Alumni Association believes it is important to support youth hockey in South Florida and create the next generation of community leaders whose first lessons in leadership will come at the hockey rink,” said Alumni Association President Randy Moller.
