Barkov sustained an upper-body injury in an Eastern Conference showdown with the Detroit Red Wings. A hit on Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader that knocked him out of the game.
The future Panthers superstar did not miss much time but was placed on injured reserved. He did, however, return to action a few days later and returned to the lineup on February 25.
