NEWARK, Del. – Women's Soccer delivers Delaware (7-1-2, 0-1 CUSA) its first loss of the season as they take down the Blue Hens, 2-1 in the opening match of Conference USA-play on Sunday afternoon.
The Panthers (4-2-3, 1-0 CUSA) got just five shots off in the contest, but chose their chances well, ending with three shots on goal and a 60% shot on goal percentage.
FIU opened the scoring at the 16:48 mark when senior Chinatsu Kaio delivered a pass into the box, which graduate student Jayden Boelter headed past the Blue Hens' goalkeeper to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.
