BIRMINGHAM, AL – Will Saxton's two-run single down the right field line lifted FIU to a 6-4 win over UAB in the first game of a doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Young Memorial Field in Birmingham, Alabama.
Both games of the doubleheader Sunday were scheduled for seven innings due to travel constraints for FIU.
With the score tied 3-3 in the top of the seventh inning, the Panthers (15-17, 5-6 Conference USA) got help from Blazers reliever Ty Harris (0-2), who walked Austin Shenton, hit Eddie Silva with a pitch and walked Jose Garcia to load the bases.
