Tying FG Short as @FIUWBB Loses to NDSU to Start Holiday Tournament

MIAMI (December 20, 2017) -- A three-point attempt fell just short in the waning seconds as FIU dropped a heartbreaking three-point decision, 71-68, to North Dakota State to start the FIU Women's Basketball Holiday Tournament Wednesday at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.

Junior Kristian Hudson (Birmingham, Alabama) had a season-high 27 points on the afternoon, the highest non-overtime scoring output of her career.

Redshirt junior Kiandre'a Pound (Gifford, Florida / Sebastian River HS) produced her fifth double-double of the season, with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

The difference in the game was bench scoring, with the Bison contributing 35 points from non-starters, with FIU only getting eight from the reserves.
