INDIAN WELLS, CALIF. (Nov. 2, 2017) – FIU senior Andrea Lazaro won in the second round of the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships on Thursday afternoon at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California. In addition, the FIU doubles pair of sophomore Ulyana Grib and junior Maryna Veksler advanced to the second round of the consolation draw.
Lazaro defeated Kansas's Anastasia Rychagova, ranked No.10 the draw, 6-1, 6-2 and advanced to the third round of the tournament. The Panther previously fell in a recent matchup against Rychagova, in the final qualifying round of the 2017 Rivera ITA All-American Championship in Los Angeles, California, in the beginning of October.
