SECONDS TO NONE: FIU needed just 56 seconds to score in 2-0 win over Omaha in NCAA Tournament

FIU hadn't hosted an NCAA Soccer Tournament game in 13 years so the Panthers wasted no time letting everyone know how glad they were to be home again in the postseason.

FIU needed just 56 seconds to bring a raucous home crowd to its feet at the FIU Soccer Stadium.

The Panthers scored less than one minute into their game against Omaha and added another goal a little more than 24 minutes later to defeat the Mavericks 2-0 in the opening round of the 2017 NCAA Soccer Tournament on Thursday night at FIU.

"Survive and advance," FIU coach Kevin Nylen said.
