CORAL GABLES (March 15, 2019) - FIU senior Terrisa Russell set a school record in the discus, placing first in the event as the Panthers opened up their 2019 outdoor campaign Friday at the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables.
Russell set a personal best with the throw, more than two meters further than her previous PR in the event, with a distance of 53.44m. Gabrielle Rains followed close behind with a throw of 51.33m for second place, and Timberly Molden also earned points with a fifth place finish.
"Our discus squad did real well," said assistant coach Chris Sullivan.
