After Miami center fielder Carl Chester caught a rocket line drive to deep center off the bat of FIU's Nick Day, Kolby Follis roared home from second base with the winning run to push FIU past Miami, 3-2, in the bottom of the ninth inning and give the Panthers a sweep of the two-game mid-week series Wednesday night at the FIU ballpark.
Follis -- who has been timed 6.13 in the 60 and is one of the fastest runners in college baseball – tagged up from second base, sprinted past third base and slid head first into home plate with the decisive run as the Panthers (7-6) erupted from the dugout to a walk-off win over the Hurricanes (4-8).
