DENTON, Texas (Jan. 9, 2020) – The FIU men's basketball team faced North Texas in a Conference USA clash at The Super Pit on Thursday night. The Panthers fell to the Mean Green 74-56, dropping its first conference game this season.
With the loss, FIU goes to 11-5 for the season and 2-1 in C-USA play. UNT moves to 8-8 with the win and 2-1 in league play.
The Panthers started the game shooting 42.3% from the field and 40% from behind the arc. However, the FIU squad allowed the opposition to go 14-32 from the field to open the game, and the Panthers trailed the Mean Green 38-26 at the break.
