ORLANDO (Jan. 20, 2020) - The FIU women's tennis team kicked off its spring season on Monday, adding its first win to the board with a 4-1 victory over Iowa.
"It is always tough to play the first match of the season specially for freshman. Doubles in my opinion were good but still needs improvement on being aggressive," said Head Coach Katarina Petrovic.
In the number one doubles position, the sophomore duo of Basak Akbas and Kamila Umarova worked to take down their Iowa foes, 6-4, for the first doubles point.
