MIAMI (Nov. 23, 2020) – Student-athletes at FIU continue to raise the bar in the classroom, as the athletic department posted a record-high 3.38 GPA for the 2019-20 academic year. The 3.38 GPA betters last year's previous high of 3.28.
"I want to thank Dr. Elizabeth Bejar and the entire SAAC staff, as well as our coaching staff," Executive Director of Sports and Entertainment Pete Garcia said. "Their commitment to academics insured that the challenges presented by Covid-19 would not derail our continued goal to excel academically in all sports.
