MIAMI (April 12, 2019) – After being on the road for two weeks, the FIU baseball team returned home in roaring fashion with a 6-3 victory over No. 30 Southern Miss.
FIU improves to 14-19 and 5-8 in Conference USA play. Southern Miss falls to 20-11 (10-3) on the season.
Midseason All-American Logan Allen fanned a career-high 13 batters over six strong innings of three-run ball to collect his third win of the season. Walker Powell was handed the loss after allowing four Panthers to score in 2.2 innings of work.
Panther pitchers struck out 18 Golden Eagles to set a program record for most strikeout in a C-USA game.
