MIAMI (Feb. 19, 2021) – In front of a capacity crowd on Opening Night, the FIU baseball team dominated the UIC Flames by a score of 9-4.
With the win, FIU improves to 1-0 on the season while UIC falls to 0-1. FIU has now won back-to-back season openers for the first time since winning on Opening Night in 2014 and 2015. FIU downed Fordham 20-7 last season to open the year.
Tyler Myrick shined on the bump, going six strong innings and giving up only one earned run on two hits.
