DURHAM, North Carolina (Dec. 6, 2019) –The FIU women's basketball team picked up a 59-58 victory in a thrilling overtime contest on Friday afternoon, as the Panthers downed North Carolina Central on the road.
FIU trailed by a point with under 20 seconds remaining in regulation, but Jiselle Thomas tied the game at the charity stripe to force overtime. The Panthers outscored the Eagles 5-4 to win in overtime. With the victory, FIU improves to 2-6 overall while the Eagles fall to 1-7.
FIU was led by Fujika Nimmo who posted 22 points on the afternoon, marking her first 20-point game of the season.
