MIAMI – The No. 30 nationally-ranked FIU women's tennis team extended its current winning streak to six consecutive dual matches with a 5-2 victory over Boston University at the FIU Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon.
The Panthers opened the match with victories in No. 1 and No. 3 doubles play – with the No. 3 tandem of Yasmine Kabbaj and Ines Bekrar clinching with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) victory.
Senior Basak Akbas sealed the win for the Panthers by earning the decisive fifth point with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) win over Boston University's Sydney Sharma.
