ATLANTA, Ga. - Sophomore Yasmine Kabbaj highlighted the FIU women's tennis team on the first day of main draw action at the ITA Southeast Regionals in Atlanta, Ga., as Kabbaj advances into Saturday's Round of 16 after notching a pair of wins in the main singles draw on Friday.
104th-ranked Kabbaj, a native of Morocco, opened with a pair of wins as the main draw's No. 10 seed to feature in tomorrow's Round of 16, dropping Georgia State's Andreea Stanescu, 6-3, 6-1, prior to prevailing in three sets over Georgia Tech's Rosie Garcia Gross, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5, to finish flawless on the day.
