MIAMI– All was right in the world at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Monday night as FIU men's basketball (1-0) routed Florida National (1-1) in front of 1,705 fans by a score of 101-49.
While the outcome of the game was never in question, the new-look Panthers roster got to shine in front of a loud home crowd for the first time. Hamed "Larry" Olayinka kicked off the campaign with a steal and dunk, and Zawdie Jackson had seven points by the first media timeout.
Kennedy Brown's dunk around the 12:30 mark stretched the lead to ten, and was furthered to 28 on Julian Mackey's three around the four minute mark.
