MIAMI — FIU football's Joe Pesansky was named the Conference USA (CUSA) Offensive Player of the Week, as announced on Monday afternoon.
Pesansky, in his first start as a Panther, set a new program record as the first-ever FIU football player to account for five touchdowns in one game (four passing, one rushing) in the Panthers' dominant 56-30 win over Middle Tennessee on Saturday. The Tampa, Fla.-native passed for 257 yards and added 29 rushing yards on the ground to pace the FIU offense.
FIU's 56 points scored with Pesansky as the signal-caller are the third-most in a game in program history and the most of any FBS team in Week 11.
