MIAMI (October 10, 2017) – For the second time this season, and the second time in the past three weeks, FIU cross country standout Sherilene Gelderblom (Middelburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa) has been named the Conference USA Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, for the week ending Oct. 8.
Gelderblom turned in another impressive performance this past weekend, in her second collegiate meet, winning the prestigious Disney Cross Country Classic women's 5K race at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida, posting a time of 18:00.8, almost 30 seconds ahead of the second-place competitor.
