MIAMI (September 19, 2016) – FIU men's soccer standout Santiago Patino is starting to see the fruits of his labor after an outstanding start to the 2016 campaign. Patino was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
A sophomore forward from Orlando, Patino led the Panthers (3-2-1, 1-0 Conference USA) to a thrilling 2-1 win over No. 21 Kentucky on Saturday night in the conference opener for both schools. Patino netted two goals in the first 12 minutes of the match, his sixth and seventh of the year, respectively.
