MIAMI – Joris Ahlinvi (Bordeaux, France) earned his first career Conference USA weekly honor as he was named the C-USA Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 16, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Ahlinvi helped the Panthers improve to 2-0 in Conference USA play last week – and 2-4 overall – while recording his first collegiate career two-goal performance. He netted both of the Panthers' goals against UAB in FIU's 2-1 double-overtime win on Sept. 14. After tying the match at one-all in the 71' minute on a header, Ahlinvi bent his own corner kick in and beat UAB goalkeeper Seth Torman to end the contest with 23 seconds remaining in the second overtime.
