The Basics
- The FIU men's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) on Friday night at the FIU Soccer Stadium in the Panthers' home-opener. The match, which was deadlocked at the end of 90 minutes, was suspended due to lightning and was not resumed.
- Marvin Hezel (Waldshut, Germany/SC Freiburg) got the Panthers on the board first just before the intermission on a spectacular set piece in the 44th minute.
