- The FIU men's basketball team took its show on the road for the first time during the 2017-18 season in the first of three games at the Black & Gold Shootout in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, hosted by UW Milwaukee. The Panthers took the court on day one of the shootout against Elon, dropping a heartbreaking 95-87 triple-overtime thriller to the Phoenix.
