MIAMI (Nov. 18, 2016) – FIU women's tennis head coach Katarina Petrovic announced on Friday the signing of Ioana Minca to a National Letter of Intent (NLI).
Minca, a native of Pitesti, Romania, has ranked as high as No. 22 in the ITF junior rankings (Aug. 2016) and is currently ranked No. 25 in the world. She is currently the top junior player in her home country and has a WTA ranking of 1,102. In 2016, Minca competed in all Junior Grand Slam tournaments (Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and U.S. Open) reaching quarterfinals in singles play at Roland Garros.
