MIAMI (March 7, 2017) – Having won seven-straight matches, the FIU women's tennis team (9-1) has moved up in this week's Oracle/ITA Women's Tennis Rankings, announced on Tuesday. It marks the highest ranking for the Panthers since being ranked No. 26 during the 2002 season.
The Panthers are coming off a 2-0 weekend, defeating then-No. 46 UNLV, 5-2, and Colorado State, 4-0, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The win over CSU marked the fifth shutout for the Panthers this season. FIU's only loss on the year was to No. 1 Florida back on Jan. 29.
Sophomore Andrea Lazaro also moved up in this week's individual rankings, climbing six spots from No.
