Before the FIU volleyball team took to the court for their first practice of the new season Wednesday morning, the Panthers got cracking at 6 a.m. joining the FIU ROTC in a military-style workout.
The workout lasted about 90 minutes and included several team exercises to help build camaraderie among the ladies.
"We encouraged each other and we worked together in ways that I didn't even think were possible," said middle blocker and co-captain Chelsea Hudson. "It speaks to our leadership. Doing this workout together got us so much closer."
FIU partook in two practices Wednesday, a morning and an afternoon session, as it welcomed seven freshmen to the 19-player roster.
