MIAMI (July 17, 2017) – After one of the most successful seasons in the history of FIU track and field, a newcomer to the program continues to show why there is great promise for the future.
FIU signee Thobias Nilsson Montler (Stockholm, Sweden) finished third in the long jump at the European U23 Championships on July 14 in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Nilsson Montler, who jumped 8.04m earlier this season, a distance that would have tied for the fourth best jump in Division I this season, posted a mark of 7.96m during the European final en route to the bronze medal.
