FIU Tennis Won Four Finals On Day Two at FIU Invitational

MIAMI (Oct. 28, 2017) –The FIU women's tennis team won four finals, two in doubles and two in singles play, during the second day at FIU Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Key Biscayne, Florida.

In two different singles finals, senior Nerma Caluk (Kakanj, Bosnia) defeated North Florida's Kinga Gartner, 6-0, 6-4, while sophomore Ulyana Grib (Minsk, Belarus) won against Drake's Summer Brills, 6-0, 6-1. Junior Maryna Veksler (Kiev, Ukraine) fell to Florida Atlantic's Natalia Boltinskaya with a score of 6-4, 7-5.

In doubles semifinals, Grib and senior Mina Markovic (Belgrade, Serbia) beat Bulldog's Brills and Megan Webb 7-6 (6), and in the final defeated Ana Perez and Najajo Julia from Texas State with a score of 6-3.
