Bowling Green, Ky.– FIU freshman pitcher Kendahl Dunford allowed just one run in a complete-game effort and Vennessa Gallegos drove in a pair of runs to lift the Panthers (30-24, 14-8 C-USA) to a 4-1 win in game two of the doubleheader. WKU (27-25, 10-13 C-USA) took game one of the doubleheader, 1-0, spoiling another solid outing by FIU sophomore pitcher Shannon Saile who struck out 12 in six innings.
Dunford gave up the one run in the bottom of the first inning, then settled in to toss six scoreless innings scattering six hits and striking out two.
