February 11, 2017 (Miami, Fla.) – The FIU softball team (3-1) defeated the Georgetown Hoyas (0-4) in a quick five innings, 10-2. The Panthers had two standouts, senior (Miami, Fla. / Gulliver Prep) and junior transfer (Lake Worth, Fla / Palm Beach Central), who led the team with three RBI apiece.
FIU senior (Miami, Fla. / Auburn) had the first hit for the Panthers with a single to second base. Following a Texeira walk, Castle doubled to right-center to bring Leon and Texeira home for the first two runs of the night.
In the bottom of the second, Georgetown pitcher Anna Brooks Pacha walked three Panthers to load the bases.
