– The FIU women's soccer team fell in it's homestand opener on Friday night, as Southern Miss earned a victory following the 3-0 decision.
Southern Miss improves to 8-2-0 (2-1, C-USA), while FIU falls to 0-12-0 (0-4, C-USA) on the season.
The Golden Eagles jumped out early on Friday, scoring in the fourth minute on a Miah Zuazua goal, before adding their second score in the 30th minute on a Monica Maldonaldo goal.
USM led in shots 9-3 at the break, but FIU came out firing in the second half as the Panthers outshot the Golden Eagles in the final 45 minutes, 9-6.
