TALLAHASSEE (Oct. 18, 2019) - A trio of Panthers closed out the opening day of the ITA Southeast Regional Championships on Friday afternoon, as the FIU women's tennis team continues fall play.
FIU had two players pick up singles wins, while the tandem of Kamila Umarova and Basak Akbas won their lone doubles match of the day after taking down their foes, 8-3, to move on to the next round.
Marina Alcaide and Umarova split their singles match on Friday, with each Panther winning their opening round match.
