NASHVILLE, Tenn (February 12, 2022) - Senior Daira Deicmane broke a 21-year FIU school record in the indoor 800 and a trio of Panthers broke into the FIU top ten lists as the Panthers excelled Friday and Saturday at the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tennessee.
"This was a terrific meet for our mid-distance and distance crew," said head coach Jermaine Felix. "Daira ran a fantastic race - she deserved the new record and I'm proud to see her accomplish that."
Deicmane ran 2:10.51 to place fourth of 44 athletes, and best her previous personal record of 2:11:40, which was set during the Conference USA Outdoor Championships last season.
