FIU reliever Chandler Raiden signed a free agent deal with the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday. Raiden becomes the third Panther this season to join the professional ranks. FIU pitcher Andres Nunez was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in last month's Major League Baseball Draft. FIU second baseman Eddie Silva recently signed a free agent deal with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Raiden was a key cog of the Panthers bullpen the last two years. The senior led the FIU pen with 25 appearances last season. He was 0-2 with a 4.72 ERA and had one save.
