MIAMI – The FIU baseball team delivered a thrilling walk-off victory over crosstown rival Miami, earning a 5-4 win in 10 innings Wednesday night at FIU Baseball Stadium.
The win marks FIU's second straight triumph over the Hurricanes this season and their third in the last four matchups. It also represents the Panthers' first home victory over Miami since March 7, 2018.
"What a team win tonight—it was ten straight innings of picking each other up and believing the whole time," said head coach Rich Witten. "All wins feel sweet, but it was especially rewarding to see the guys trust one another and step up when it mattered most.
