FIU junior third baseman Austin Shenton was named the MVP of the 2018 Cape Cod Baseball League championship series after leading the Wareham Gatemen to a sweep of the Chatham Anglers on Monday afternoon.
Shenton hit .522 with three home runs and 12 RBI in the playoffs. The left-handed hitting Shenton was 12 for 23 in the Cape postseason. In the championship series Shenton was 3 for 8 with a double and six RBI.
"I was honored to be part of this team and this class organization of the Wareham Gatemen," Shenton said.
